Joint Entrance Examination - Main popularly known as JEE main is an entrance exam conducted by NTA at national level for admission to various undergraduate engineering level engineering courses like B.E/ B.Tech, B.Plan and B.Arch offered by IIITs (Indian Institute of Information Technology), NITs (National Institute of Technology) and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions (CFTIs) across the country.
Out of the students appearing for JEE Main this year only 2.5 lakhs top score holders will be eligible to apply for JEE Advance. As per the recent notifications,from 2021 JEE main will be held four times and student's best of the 2021 NTA scores will be considered while preparing the merit list/ranking. The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) manages and organises the counselling cum seat allotment process for all the IITs, NITs, IIITs and CFTIs.
